Wests Committee strengthens

Wests Rugby Club is very proud to announce the appointment of Wests Premiership player Matthew ‘Sully’ Sutherland as a Strategic Business Partner for the Committee, while Chief Executive Officer Tim Arnold has been appointed as a member of the Committee for 2018.

Sutherland, a Wests Junior, who has amassed over 150 games for the senior club, will be a specialist advisor to the Committee on key tactical issues and the development of long term sustainable strategic objectives. As the current Chief Operating Officer of vocational education and training organisation iCollege, Sully brings a wealth of professional experience in both sport and business. Sully, son of Life Members Ken and Pat Sutherland is a proud supporter of the club and is looking forward to the engagement.

 “Wests has been such a massive part of my life, and will continue to do so, well into the future. I am genuinely looking forward to working with this Committee and building something special which will provide benefits to Wests, rugby and the Belconnen community for years to come,” Matt Sutherland said.

Arnold, the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, brings over 10 years of experience in senior positions within the sporting world, including acting CEO and General Manager of Engagement & Compliance for Touch Football Australia, Manager of Sustainable Partnerships with Australian Sports Commission and General Manager of Community & Stakeholder Engagement for Swimming Australia.

President, Angus McKerchar is equally excited about the two appointments. “Both these guys are exceptional people, and successful individuals who will add to the Committee’s professional skill sets that we need to take Wests to greater heights. The Committee is extremely proud and very pleased to have individuals of this quality on board”.
